Level 1 Service Provider PCI Compliance
PowerPay is recognized as Level 1 Service Provider Compliant with the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS), as advised under the program rules of both Visa and MasterCard for validated Service Providers. Level 1 Service Providers must adhere to the strictest data security standards and must undergo and document an annual on-site PCI Data Security Assessment and quarterly Network Scan.
Inc. 500
PowerPay has been recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing private companies in the U.S. In 2008 we ranked #314, earning a place in the Inc. 500 for our phenomenal 899% three-year growth; ranking #25 within the Financial Services industry and #1 within the State of Maine. In 2009, we've continued to rank highly with Inc. at #838; employing over 130 people and still growing at a 50% annual rate.
Best Places to Work in Maine
For the past three years, PowerPay has been named one of the "Best Places to Work in Maine" — the results of an employee-based survey that is conducted yearly by the Best Companies Group and Maine Department of Labor to publicly and privately-held organizations throughout the state. The award recognizes our outstanding workplace environment, powered by a unique, employee-centric model.

Since 2004, PowerPay has also been a Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited company with an ‘A+’ rating.

Registered ISO
PowerPay is officially registered with the MasterCard and Visa associations as an Independent Sales Organization (ISO). While registration is required for every company and individual who provides Visa and MasterCard merchant accounts, there are some who may not comply. We believe that being a Registered ISO reflects our full professional commitment to the credit card industry, and helps us stay current with best practices and the latest trends in card processing.
Sustainable Best Practices
PowerPay is committed to following sustainable and environmentally sound best practices whenever possible. The company's Green Team, comprised of employees, researches products, services and methods that, in addition to the anticipated LEED Certified work environment, will further reduce their carbon footprint. The team has implemented green initiatives including compostable utensils, and are working towards the development of a “green training” module for new employees and company-wide digital signature and electronic fax technology. The company is also expected to offer full recycling capabilities in their office, accommodating plastic, paper and cardboard. PowerPay has also purchased Green-e® Energy certified renewable energy credits, showing our commitment to helping reduce our dependency on fossil fuels, promoting cleaner air and fighting global climate change.
In addition, PowerPay is an affiliate member of the Maine Businesses for Sustainability (MBS), a network of Maine businesses expanding their bottom line through sustainable business practices and triple bottom line values. MBS provides Maine businesses an opportunity to learn about sustainability, network with other businesses, and find innovative ways to grow.
Community Involvement
PowerPay understands the value of giving back to its community, and has established a volunteer Giving Committee to support our many donation and partnership initiatives. The company coordinates employee-giving programs where donations, matched by PowerPay, go to social service agencies within the community including the Preble Street Resource Center, The Independent Transportation Network and the Fort Kent Ecumenical Food Pantry.
