Product Highlight - E-check Direct

Paper checks are becoming a thing of the past as credit cards, debit cards and now e-checks become the norm. By using PowerPay's E-check Direct product, you’ll have access to your funds in as little as 48 hours!

How it works – a customer’s check information is entered, either by the customer online, an operator over the phone or through the mail. Individually or in daily batches, the payment is sent directly to the e-check processor for transmission via ACH to the customer’s bank account for debiting.

E-Check Direct enables you to:

  • Verify checking account and routing numbers to minimize returned items
  • Access a variety of easy-to-use online reporting tools
  • View transaction status hourly, so you can respond to returned item issues and process billings as scheduled
  • Administer recurring payments for auto-ship/continuity programs, and multi-pay offers
  • Export transaction data into Excel
  • Issue refunds and re-present returned items as ACH debits electronically

Meet your PowerPay Direct Team

 

Brian Wood – Vice President, Direct Response
Brian Wood was formerly Executive Vice President for Marketing, eCommerce Development and Direct Banking at Banknorth Group. Brian has 24 years of strategic and hands-on financial services experience in brand development and marketing communications, strategic planning, product development, sale management, eCommerce and channel development and M&A integration.

In addition to his Banknorth experience, Brian held executive level marketing and business line positions at major regional and national financial services companies including Fleet Financial Group and KeyCorp, as well as local and statewide community banking organizations.

Prior to joining PowerPay, Brian was director of the Financial Services practice at Swardlick Marketing Group, an advertising and marketing services agency. Brian also served as Chief Operating Officer for Vision Payment Solutions, a Portland, Maine based credit card processing ISO.

     
 

Alison Schmidt – Senior Account Manager, Direct Response
Alison has been in the customer service industry for 12 years. Alison’s vast experience enables her to provide quality customer service to our Direct Response business partners. Alison’s primary responsibilities include business development by working with our numerous partners to provide innovative ideas that help them become successful in the Direct Response industry. Alison also assists clients in the application process and manages existing client relationships. Alison has worked for PowerPay for four years. Prior to working with PowerPay, Alison worked in a Direct Response call center as a Sales Manager for eight years. In addition, Alison worked twelve years at LL Bean in Customer Service. 

Alison resides in Gorham, Maine with her husband and children.  

     
 

Sonya Messer – Account Manager, Direct Response
Sonya Messer is an Account Manager within PowerPay Direct. Sonya’s fourteen years of experience in the Direct Response industry enables her to understand the specific needs our partners. Her primary responsibilities include business development, managing existing referral relationships and developing marketing programs for strategic partners. Prior to PowerPay, Sonya was a co-founder of a Direct Response call center specializing in nutraceutical and self-improvement products. As COO, she successfully established and managed several departments including sales, customer service, accounting and fulfillment. Sonya also served as a crucial resource to the development of products and services adding an additional revenue source for her clients. Later on in her career, Sonya founded two additional contact centers one specializing in VoIP, text chat and email support. Most recently, Sonya has offered her sales and marketing skills to serve as a consultant and strategic partner to companies in the Direct Response industry.

Sonya resides in Falmouth, Maine with her three children.

     
 

Seth Proper – Sales Representative, Direct Response
Seth's primary responsibilities include acquiring new business, as well as maintaining client satisfaction throughout the application process. He assists in setting up new merchant accounts, along with forming new referral partnerships through outside service providers. Prior to joining PowerPay Direct, Seth served as a Loan Officer with Pinnacle Lending for three years, and then later became a Sales Manager for USA Mortgage Resource. Seth holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine.

Seth currently resides in Portland, Maine.
